13 moms liked this

.....says my almost 13yr old daughter.
I have been to every store you can imagine and all the shorts are so unbelievably short!
Where are you guys buying shorts at for your daughters? I refuse to spend money on these itty bitty things that show her backside if she bends over!

Maybe shop on line. =0) at Old Navy or the Gap, or J.C. P., or Sears, etc.

Quoting TwinSoccerMom:

Thankfully my 13-year-old DD hates those shorty shorts.  She prefers capris or basketball style shorts.  But they are hard to find.  We go to a lot of secondhand and consignment shops for clothes.  Not always easy to find there either, they always get snatched up right away.

If your daughter is tall it is hard if you are cheap like me. But try old navy

If they're too short, I usually buy my daughter's fav abercrombie shorts in a bigger size so it's a bit longer and then we pick out a belt to fit it around the hips

We hit the thrift store and I hit the jackpot finding many shorts that were burmuda style shorts or jean shorts that were as long as the bermuda shorts.

my girls are always wanting to wear the shorty shorts too, and it is not just about the back side hanging out. My youngest is 15 and does not sit like a lady. So her bits are always visible too. I told her she is not allowed to wear shorty shorts (or overly tight shorts either) and she gets mad. But i buy the granny looking ones. I know how to sew and they can be hemed up to a decent lenght with out the bits or the butt hanging out for the world to see!

If you put your arms down at your sides, the bottom hem of the shorts should touch your longest finger. If it doesn't do that, I ain't buying it. I'd rather my daughter wear skirts.
