.....says my almost 13yr old daughter.
I have been to every store you can imagine and all the shorts are so unbelievably short!
Where are you guys buying shorts at for your daughters? I refuse to spend money on these itty bitty things that show her backside if she bends over!
I hate knee length shorts. They're uncomfortable and look silly IMO. Not to mention I am short so knee length ends up below the knee for me. Capris are a lost cause.
I don't have a teenager (yet) but I was one not that long ago. I remember fighting with my mom over clothes. IMO as long as their butt is covered (even when they bend over - that's important to remember lol) it's good.
i always have to look for BERMUDA style shorts for my daughters (ages 11 and 8). they are not knee length or capri's. my girls are too skinny for the shorts in their size for age group.
ps aeropostle. jc penney. sears. old navy, target, and just browse anywhere online!! wally doesnt have much of a selection :-/
When I was a teenager I had this problem BEFORE the style with sooo short- I'm tall, and I'm all legs. I can remember having to go to the office over my shorts. They weren't short at ALL! However, the "hand rule" made them "short" IT was sooo aggravating. GL, my little girl is only 2 so I waiting to see what the "style" will be when she is a tween. I already know she will be tall, considering her dad is taller than me!
My daughter was sent home from school twice in the last month because her shorts were too short. And we live in Florida and it's like 900 degrees with 100% humidity. I can't find any shorts that meet the school's standards. Even skirts are way too short. We solved the skirt problem by sewing a row of lace on the bottom to make them an inch longer, but the shorts are more difficult.
I've been buying capri like shorts for my oldest (4) because otherwise the shorts seem to be too short, at least the jeans.. and I've gotten the longer tights like pants (just below the knees). (got these from jcpennies)
Just because I refuse to let her underwear hang out the back if she bends over.. it's hard enough trying to keep jeans and pants that don't ride down and give out plumbers butt!!!!
And don't even get me started on shoes!! after size 10 in little girls.. they are nothing but HEELS for dress shoes.. trying to find a pair of nice dress shoes for her graduation was a nightmare that ended at me nearly giving up after 4 stores... ended up looking at walmart while I was there picking up office supplies just on the off chance of having any luck.. and found a pair that weren't TOO bad.. (half inch heel), but literally couldn't find any shorter.. SHE'S 4!!! I know she's got larger feet for her age, but REALLY?? Heels??
Some shortrs just look short. You have to try them on to actually find out if they are. I know I bought some shorts from Wal-Mart that I thought were too too short, but I figured that if I put some tights on under it, it would help keep things tucked in and not show anything. Turns out the back of the shorts have more material than the front, so my butt is fully covered even if I bend over. The material ends about three? or so inches under my butt. For me, the shorts are short still (cause Im not used to them being so short, even if everything is covered) so what I do is I put on tights. The sheer kind. I feel fully covered then. It also stops the shorts from riding up mah crotch. XD (this isn't my 'idea'. This has been a style that i've seen mostly done by chicks in japan. Girls here are slowly picking it up..)
