"Shorts are supposed to be short!"

Posted by   + Show Post

.....says my almost 13yr old daughter.
I have been to every store you can imagine and all the shorts are so unbelievably short!
Where are you guys buying shorts at for your daughters? I refuse to spend money on these itty bitty things that show her backside if she bends over!

Did you look at all the thrift stores too?

Not the answer you're looking for, but she's kind of right. Other than sports, womens shorts are generally high on the thigh. It's not like they're booty shorts. My shorts are short too, that's the point. It's not about sex. Actually, my shorts aren't all that sexy. It's just so damn hot out.

If you cant find any, buy some cheap jeans and hem them to a length you can compromise on.

We found some at Old Navy, too.  They aren't bermudas but aren't super short shorts, either.  I was so happy to find them that I was willing to pay $20 for them, lol.  DD wears them all the time.

Old Navy had some bermudas back in the Spring, not sure if they still have them or not.

Here they are on their website

We have short legs so what is usually short short on one is a good length for us. We live in TX and it gets hotter than hades here, so there is no way I am going to argue about shorts length as long as I don't see her cheeks we are good!

They are way too short. My daughter is 14. I tell her they have to be down to her thumbs. They are still way too short IMO.

They had tons of different lengths and the nice thing about the Old Navy site is that they give you the inseam on the main search page so you don't have to click on every pair to see if it is long enough.

1 mom liked this

I saw one Mom fix her daughter's perspective in the most interesting way.

She had her daughter put on some shorts (ahem denim underwear!) then went in the dressing room with her, had her bend over, and took a picture!  Then she had her sit on a chair, pointed the phone down, and took another pic.

She then showed her DD just how much of her was exposed.  The girl no longer wanted the shorts.

I honestly think these girls don't realize just how these shorts look on them.  Up walking around is one thing.  Doing anything at all, you've got cheeks, cracks, panties, etc all hanging out!
