Mortifying Mom Storms Onto Ice During Son's Hockey Game to Break Up Fight (VIDEO)

I think we can all relate to wanting to do what the hockey mom in the following video does. It's the fact that she actually did it that's so unbelievable.

During a youth hockey game in Boston, a fight breaks out, as fights often do in hockey. However, when the refs don't do enough to save her precious son from the blows, she marches out onto the ice, in front of the entire crowd, and lets them have it. With her finger wagging, she unleashes a few expletives as the refs tell her to get off of the ice. Watch after the jump.

 

My favorite part is that she brought her purse with her!

The woman hasn't been identified as of yet, and I'm not sure how old her son is, but can you even imagine how mortified he was/is/always will be? I cringe for him.

In the lady's defense, however, that ref on the right was doing nothing to stop the fight. He was just standing there, watching. If someone was pummeling my kid like that, I would find it hard to hold myself back too. I would ... or at least I hope I would. That mama bear instinct is pretty strong though, even if puts you on some pretty thin ice sometimes.

I'm really glad to hear that some places have strick rules against it. My husband and i were actually talking about it because we hope to relocate in a couple years to colorado and I told him I didn't want to the kids to play because the fighting.

Maybe I should be happy that it's not tolerated here. The only game where my son has ever played in where a punch was thrown at tournament right across the boarder in WI, and they were playing an Iowa team.

They have strict rules here about fights and respecting the refs. If that above video happened in the district where my son plays, the mom could possibly have been reprimanded for her actions.

I hate that opinion of hockey.

Fighting in youth hockey is not tollerated. Hockey is an extremely hard sport to play (you have to be an extremely skilled skater in addition to having the hand-eye coordination to control a fast moving puck with a stick), and I hate that people only think that it's about fighting.

I think at that age the kid should be fighting his own battles, but I can see myself hitting the referee over the head with my bag. A mom is a mom. Our instincts are strong.

I'm a hockey mom and don't like it when mom's act the way she did. I would never do that to either of my son's.

They were on the Today show (or something like that).  She was saying that she felt like she needed to do something about it  because the refs were allowing these fights to happen and she felt it was going to get too dangerous for the kids.

Though I understand where she is coming from, it should have been the coaches that should have been out there making a big deal out of it.

lol Really, I feel bad for the kid lol Now he will be tormented. That wasnt even a bad fight, the kid was wearing a helmet and the other kid a glove, no wonder the ref wasnt doing anything.
