Dd11 is reverting back to preschool behavior. Whinning, crying at the drop of a hat, squealing temper tantrums, fighting with her 4 yr old brother, (like a 4 yr old). Up until recently she was more like a mother hen to him which I actually didn't like either but now I'd gladly take that back.
How do you get through it? How do you stop it?
Some examples: it's bathtime: whinning 'can't I do it tomorrow?'. In this high pitch nails on a chalk board tone. Ugh
The crying: if I punish both kid's for arguing (seperation or removing the item they are fighting over) she starts crying.
Tempertantrums: maybe this is the wrong word but it seems like a tempertantrum to me. We are going to eat somewhere and she just starts saying 'I don't like that place why do we have to go there I hate it it's not fair' slamming doors, kicking the back of the seat in the car.
We went to the lake today to ride the sea doos. Dd Loves it. She's learning to drive and is very excited about going most weekends. Today she cried at every turn. It's too scary!! Crocodile tears so we told her she wasn't going to get to drive bc we didn't feel she was mature enough to drive if she couldn't handle us driving her at a normal speed and doing turns. She got off and refused to move from the place she was on until we threatened to leave her.
I'm actually afraid that it's going to escalate before it gets better.
Any advice? I'm not equipped for this. She has been the best kid for 11 years and I've yet to deal with this type of behavior. My son rarely acts this way. I'm not bragging but I have pretty good, reasonable kids and this is just not normal and I don't know what to do.
