Here's our forcast...It's gonna be HOT!

Oh and that is not with the heat index. They said it will feel like 105 or 106.  LOVELY.

Today and Tomorrow will be horrible. The humidity nearly knocked me over today when I walked to the Mailbox just at the end of our Driveway.. Ugh.

We had two horrible storms hit our state within the past 48 hours. Our power was out for about 1/2 of yesterday, but fortunately our power was restored before it was 90-something with 60%-plus humidity yesterday afternoon.

Here's a top story on one of those two storms:

DULUTH, Minn. — Residents evacuated their homes and animals escaped from their pens at a zoo as floods fed by a steady torrential downpour struck a city in northeastern Minnesota, officials said Wednesday.

Police officers helped track down a polar bear that got out of its enclosure overnight at the Lake Superior Zoo in Duluth.

“Even though it’s a large white object, it’s pretty nerve racking,” police spokesman Jim Hansen said of the chase for Berlin, the female polar bear. Zoo officials said she was darted by the zoo’s vet and placed in quarantine.

Keely Johnson, zoo spokeswoman, told the Duluth Tribune that many of the zoo’s animals have drowned, including all but one of the zoo’s barnyard animals. She said the zoo’s donkey, goats and sheep have died. She said it’s possible others have drowned, as flooding on the grounds have consumed some of the exhibits, such as the raven and vulture cages.

“Obviously, our entire staff is devastated,” said Peter Pruett, the zoo’s director of animal management.

Officials said no animals left the zoo grounds and all have been secured.

Here is a slide show of effects of the storm that went over our house and knocked out our power yesterday. A lot of the cars wrecked by trees are within a mile or two of our house. I guess we're lucky that our cars survived just fine, considering that all three of them were parked on the street.
