So.............
how was your weekend?
What did you do?
What are you doing today?
Quoting steelcrazy:I spent Saturday relaxing in the pool and reading. Sunday was pretty much the same with a little bit of laundry tossed in just for fun. lol This was our first quiet weekend in a while again and we enjoyed it very much.
Quoting Barabell:
Quoting auroragold:Today - DD's first camp experience begins. Nothing BIG AND MAJOR this time around. Local recreation camp (and I'm only a 5 minute drive away) but she'll be gone all day every day this week. It'll be a first for us both!
Let us know how the day goes for her (and for you)!
Her day was "chaos" according to her.
We had thunder and bad rain all day so the kids - ALL of them - were forced to be inside of one building. Seems like the counselors didn't have a great plan for what to do when it rains ALL day so.........
Sounds like it was survivable - just not the greatest.
Me? I got a lot of work done!
Luckily we have a pool in our back yard.
Quoting psych_mom:
I'm jealous. I miss our pool that we had at the condo, but not enough to give up our house, lol.

I'm so sorry that the counselors hadn't prepared for all day rain. They must be amateurs because seasoned veterans like you and I would have had alternate activities planned out in advance.

Damn skippy!
And you should see the "craft" they did. Shameful....
We'll give it the week though. If it doesn't get better, I'll pull her from the other 2 weeks I have scheduled. That, and I'll be having a conversation with the director of the program (who is a work colleague)
Didn't too too much over the weekend- just a lot of hanging around the house. Did have a date night w/ dh Sat. night- went out to dinner, then got to pull ds1's clothes together for Boy Scout camp this week. Had to get up early Sun, to make sure ds1 and dh got out the door w/ everything they needed for camp.
Today was day 1 of Girl Scout day camp- ds2 is stuck going as a tag-along since I'm volunteering there (dd wanted to go, but would not do so unless I went, too). A bit chaotic, but fun : )

Hmmmm, that doesn't sound like a good start. :( Hopefully today will be better for her. Maybe it's just that it was a disappointing start to a new thing. I'm also kind of surprised that the organizers weren't more equipped to handle bad weather days, but at the same time, my son usually did skip afternoon camp on bad weather days if it was supposed to be outside just because it wasn't as fun as the regular camp activities. Usually he would play basketball all afternoon, but he did have a few choices of activities to choose from.
