I got it the last day of school so I went out and got everything..Now to start clothes shopping!

Quoting psych_mom:School supplies go on sale here right before school starts back so I never buy before then because we will pay more than double.
They don't do that here or I would shop then to avoid the madness. I have three to shop for so that would be awesome. They also don't give us supply list early and it changes from year to year, so what one kid needed, the next one won't.

They mark everything down to like 70% off the last week of school so that's when I get most supplies.

Hate me if you want, we don't get supply lists here. Our school district and PTA pay for all supplies for every student. It makes things easier to have them all ordered and delivered to the school over the summer. The only thing that I have to do is pay the bill with a PTA check when it comes into the district office.

The school doesn't post the list until the end of July. I wait until then to see what the individual teachers require. Since school doesnt start until Sept we have plenty of time yet.
The only thing I've bought is backpacks and lunchboxes. When we were looking at backpacks, my oldest said "mom, I don't need a new backpack; I can use the same one from last year." I was really proud of him for recognizing this and admitting it...not just getting a new backpack because I was willing to get him one. So proud of his maturity on this one!
I have had two kids go into and out of jr high so I know the list and my friend has a son who just left jr high so I can get an idea from her. My tweens in middle school will get what my older daughter had last year I'm sure. I found a sale lasst month for jeans for 6.00 at the mall so bought some.
