I also have 7th grader this year. It hard to see the changes.  I still get hugs. I take them as long as I can get them.   He is into the hair  thing and working out more.   The biggest thing I heard this summer was mom you  no longer have to look down at me.  You are looking across. Meaning he grew taller and he no longer shorter than me.

My oldest son will be 12 in less than 6 months. I think that we just have to learn to adjust and be here for them the best that we can be.

My son is turning 13 in Sept and going into 7th grade. I've just tried to keep the lines of communication open. If anything, to my surprise, I think he's been opening up more this calendar year since he was stressed about something and realized that he felt better after talking to his parents about it.

My oldest son will be turning 12 within the next 6 months as well.  It is a roller coaster ride for sure and I really wanna get off of it.  lol  Unfortunately, we have to keep on going and learn on the fly.

I'm still mad that I left my boys' owners manual in the hospital after giving birth.  I could really use that owners manual right about now. lol
