New 'Dark Knight Rises' Extended Sneak-Peek Will Blow Your Mind (VIDEO)

Posted by Maressa Brown

dark knight rises still of batman christian baleSummer 2012 has already brought us a slew of popcorn flicks already -- from Snow White & the Huntsman to The Amazing Spider-Man to Brave. But it seems like nothing can beat the hype surrounding The Dark Knight Rises, Christopher Nolan's final Batman film. Especially now that Warner Bros. has released a thrilling 13-minute, extended sneak-peek featurette that goes behind-the-scenes of the hotly anticipated film.

I have to admit: Usually, totally in-depth previews like this are a huge turn-off to me. Why cough up the money and bother even seeing the film when a trailer is giving it all away? But somehow, this sneak-peek manages to explore what the movie has to offer without spoiling all the fun. Whether you've been anticipating the action- and star-packed film's July 20 release or not, this clip will have you on the edge of your seat.

Check it out ...

AWESOME. As Anne puts it, it does look like Nolan was able to "amp up the stakes," really taking it to places we aren't expecting. Yet, at the same time, it doesn't look like it falls into the common action flick trap wherein spectacle matters more than a semblance of a storyline. You can tell from this featurette that Nolan really does cares about his films having a plot, an emotional, truly human story. And so does his incredible all-star cast. No wonder the film received a standing ovation at a recent advanced screening!

More from The Stir: New 'Dark Night Rises' Clip Is One of the Best Trailers Ever Made (VIDEO)

I feel like Nolan's investment in developing these classic characters will be going to be what separates the boys from the men, so to speak, as far as big summer blockbusters go. Judging from this glimpse behind the curtain, there's no question: The Dark Knight will follow in its predecessors -- being a worthy winner at the box office.

What do you think of this sneak-peek?

Does it make you more excited for the film?

Will your tween be seeing it?

I didn't watch the sneak-peek, but I've seen ads for it before.

We really want to go. I'll be taking my tween to see it. Probably won't go opening weekend due to the crowds though.

We definitely won't be going when it opens, but will most likely see it while it's in the theaters!

We will be going but not to the theater we usually go to. Here all those showtimes on all the screens at the theater we usually visit are already completely sold out all weekend long.

Instead we are going to the movie grill. We will have dinner with our movie and while it will be busy as it usually is with heavily anticipated movies, it will not be crazy packed with 4 hour line waits...lol

That's neat. I don't think they have one of those here. Usually, we just go to the early morning shows when it's $5, and we don't go the first weekend if it's really popular. I have no problems waiting another week to see the movie.

We will not be going to see it. Our tweens are not into Batman at all.

During the day, the first two showings at the Movie Grill are $5 too. We may end up doing that and having lunch, since lunch prices are cheaper instead of waiting for the night showing...lol
