Since I'm basically done until we find out what my son needs on the first day of school, I've started helping out my brother and Sister-in-law and another friend of mine since both are going through a financial rough patch.

My friend has twins (7) and custody of one grandchild. For her I bought just about everything the 3 little girls will need for the first day of school~ crayons, markers, glue, glue sticks pencils, folders, pencil case, notebooks, pencil sharpeners, erasers, fiskar scissors and each got a coloring book and some candy.

for my brother/sil I got my oldest niece (9) Monster High notebook, Monster High folder, Monster High pencil case, Monster High pencils, Monster High eraser, and a Monster High lunch box. I'll be picking her up crayons, glue / glue sticks, more pencils and anything else she might need to get through the first few weeks of school. I'll be picking up my other niece and both nephews something as well so they don't feel left out.

That was nice of you to help out.

I think we're done with BTS supply shopping too. He'll also need some new stuff once we get the full list from teachers the first week of school. I also think he needs some new pants, but I'll wait closer until the start of school before I buy those.

We have some stuff left over from last year, and they have their supply list due to the summer program they are doing, so I can start real soon.

Other than clothes (can they please stop growing now?) which will be a little bit at a time, it shouldn't take that long.

We are done. We went and bought them both 3 outfits a piece to start out with and socks and underware, backpacks, lunchboxes and other odds and ends. Mine are ready to go. Just got to get the stuff to make lunches easier.

my mom buys all of her grandkids school supplies.  well, most of it.  she gets the basics like crayons, paper, folders, etc.  so this year i will only be spending about $20 on school supplies.  she also works at walmart so she gets the discount.  i also need to get my boys new jeans, underwear, a pe uniform for my 11 year old, and school shirts for each of them.  they either have to wear solid color collared shirts or school shirts.  i like to get them school shirts because they are basic tshirts so my boys can be more relaxed sometimes.  plus the school shirts come in handy for field trips and such.

Got DD 6th grade, school supplies the other day...the usual, pens, pencils, paper etc.....but she also needed FOUR   2 inch binders and 1000 3x5 index cards!  What are they going to do with so many index cards?!   DS will start HS, so I don't have a specific list for him.

I homeschool and I bought 20 packs of index cards this year to use with DS. I went through about that many last year. I use them for foreign language words, notetaking for reports, etc. I'm four weeks in and think I've already been through 1 1/2 packs.

What a great deal! I wish we have Meijer's here. :( My son is picky about how his jeans fit too, and it's difficult buying new ones for him. Sigh.

Out of the 4 of us, I was the only one to find shoes that fit and did not look like something a pre teen/ early teen would wear. I snaggd 2 pair for $50. The second pair I found were normally $45.

They have jeans on sale this week. The brand my son likes are on sale $9.99! You just can not beat that price. I make my son go with me to buy clothes that way He Picks them out and can't blame me if he does not like the fit.
