What was the intended use of chewing gum when it was first patented in 1869 by William Finley Semple?
I seem to remember knowing this, but now I got nothing...lol
Good luck ladies.
OMG!! I know this. Give me a minute or so.
Hint: Semple was a dentist.
For some reason I am thinking tires....but I think its because of the rubber. So....it was used as a rubber material, right?

The answer doesn't have to do with tires. I googled gum, and it appears to have been different substances over the centuries. Many times it was a sap or bark, and some had medicinal properties. But currently it's a synthetic latex, similar to rubber.

Nope. Nothing with eraser.
