Extracurricular activities - monthly cost

How much do you pay for these per month? 

My twins are doing band, karate/gymnastics. I figured out this is costing about $275 a month.  Should it really cost so much?

Also do your activities meet on the weekends (other than team sports)? All of our stuff tends to fall during the week.  My children are bored to tears on the weekend. :-(

I wanted to add one more thing for one child but can't find something during the weekend.

$20 per kid for instrument rental (oldest dd plays viola, youngest dd plays violin) monthly, youngest dd plays soccer (travel, about $4000 per year, not including travel expenses), volleyball (about $500 per year), and track (another $500 per year). Sports for youngest dd will drop immensely once she reaches middle school since we don't have pay to play.

Sarah (5): $78 for gymnastics and $20 for cheer (I'm the coach so I get a discount, though)

Kiki (8): $103 for gymnastics,$78 for tumbling, and $20 for cheer

Lexie (12): $103 for gymnastics, $78 for tumbling, $20 for all-star cheer, and who-knows-what for varsity cheer...I don't even wanna think about it!

Everything is during the week for us, too:

Tumbling is on Wednesday from 7:30-8:30pm

Gymnastics is on Thursday from 3:00-4:30pm (3:30-4:30 for Sarah)

All-Star Cheer is on Thursday from 6:00-6:30 for Sarah, 6:40-7:10 for Kiki, and 7:10-8:10 for Lexie

Lexie has varsity cheer from 1:53-3:00pm on Mondays, and 12:53-3:00pm on Wednesdays and Fridays, plus games

The only thing we have on the weekends are performances and Lexie's varsity cheer team meetings (Sundays from 1:00-2:00)

My 14 yo dd isn't doing anything right now. But, she wants to try out for school tennis in the spring, that will be $100. She will also play rec soccer which is $75 plus cost of uniform for the season.

My 11 yo ds plays soccer which is $70 per season (3 seasons a year), $65 per month for martial arts and about $25 for his viola rental.

My 10 yo dd plays soccer which is $65 per season (3 sesons a year), $65 per month for martial arts, $25 per month clarinet rental and she is doing a dance class through the rec department that is $28 per month.

I guess we aren't falling too far out of line considering the activities they are in. Hopefully middle school will bring a reduction in cost!
