Hi my name is Heather and I have an 11 year old son. I am trying to navigate my way around the site. I have a question. My son has these outbursts when he doesn't get his way. They do not happen all the time they are random, but they can be bad. He yells and tells me that he can do what he wants. I think he thinks he's the boss. It's just the 2 of us and I am not sure what to do anymore. Any thoughts?

Hi Heather! Welcome to the group.

You have to get this behavior under control now. You need to set firm guidelines and consequences for his actions. Make sure he understands both guidelines and consequences. If he acts out, you need to enforce the consequences. He needs to understand that there are consequences for his actions and you need to remain firm. Once he understands that you are not going to back down, he will adjust his way of thinking.
