Do your children have to do their homework immediately after school or do you allow them downtime first before they have to hit the books?

My boys eat a snack before homework.

My girls have their routine when they come home: bathroom, snack, homework, activities, dinner, chores, shower, family time, reading and bed by 9:30.

Homework typically happens shortly after getting in the door from school.  They both have activities in the evening and in order to participate in those their homework has to be done.

DD usually has a snack first and then gets everything done. She hates being called inside at night to get her homework done so she learned if she does it right away then the whole evening after dinner is hers!

Snack and then homework usually. I hate homework as much as they do, so I want them to get it over with so they can have the rest of the evening to relax.
