I had a baby in 2016, a one year old - my youngest of five boys.
I’m in some baby month groups on CafeMom and Facebook.

It really bothers me for some reason that everything is rainbows and unicorns!
Everything is perfect, even for the first time mom’s.

I didn’t know what I was doing my first time around. I still make mistakes this fifth time.
Everything is not perfect, and I don’t know everything.

I’m feeling some kind of way that nothing ever goes wrong and the mom’s in my groups know everything and know how to handle anything.

I like that in this group our children are older and we know we are not perfect, our children are not perfect and life is not perfect.

I had a coworker, a first time mom who had her baby boy a few months after me. (I use “had” because her husband is in the military, she moved and we are not coworkers anymore).

When we were both pregnant she was nervous and didn’t know what to expect. Now every day her Facebook posts show her wonderful life. Baby never gets on her nerves, she never needs a break, nothing ever goes wrong. It’s not just her it’s all the first time moms who I know online and in real life.

If Facebook existed when I was a first time mom 19 years ago I wouldn’t have time to login the first year.
I know that’s funny because I have five now and I manage to login on here daily, multiple times a day.

Anyway I don’t get it.
How do they have time to cook, clean, spend time with baby, do anything around the house if they are on Facebook all day?!
I don’t get it.
