Ok... If my son knew I was posting this on here he would KILL me but I dont know where else to turn. Ok, my son came to me last night saying that the foreskin around his penis was swollen. I didnt know how to respond to it. I thought maybe he wasnt washing it properly so I made him get in the shower and explained to him how important it was to keep it clean. A few hours later he came back to me saying it was worse. I really didnt understand completely what he was talkin about so after several minutes of convincing, I finally got him to show me. He was so uncomfortable but and I felt bad but I had to figure out what he was talkin about. Anyway, I hope this isnt too graphic or offending but its the only way I can explain it, it looks like he has a dohnut around the head of his penis. Has anyone ever experienced anything like that w their young son? He is circumsized. Ive looked up anything and everything I could about this but nothing seemed to fit his situation. It says something about a rash or white bumps or burning when u pee..... He has no other symptoms other than the swelling. I even went as far as asking him if anyone has "messed w him" and he says no.

Does anyone have any ideas???

HMMMM NOT SURE BUT DO YOU HAVE A HOSPITAL HOTLINE THAT IS OPEN 24 HRS WHERE YOU CAN CALL AND ASK A NURSE ABOUT IT?  HAS HE RECENTLY STARTED MASTURBATING? I KNOW TMI, BUT IF HE'S NOT USING ANY LUBE, THEN THAT COULD CAUSE THE SWELLING AND IRRITATION.   WE HAVE A DEAL HERE WITH OUR HOSPITAL, IT'S CALLED ASK A NURSE AND YOU CAN CALL AND ASK ANNONYMOUSLY IF YOU WANT.  CHECK YOUR PHONE BOOK :  )   GOOD LUCK AND KEEP US POSTED AS TO WHAT YOU FIND OUT!

Is there a man he can talk to about masturbating?   My husband handled this issue with our older boys.....lack of lubricant can cause the problem you describe.  OR, if he is very athletic, the friction of a lot of movement against undergarments can be the problem.  I had to buy one of my boys underarmour tight shorts to keep everything in check when he plays soccer (he refused to use a jock strap).  Good luck.
