Birthday party ideas?

My daughter is turning 13 so she qualifies for a "big party".

(We have an understanding with our girls that their "big party" is for when they turn 10, 13, and 16 - mainly because they are 13 months apart with birthdays in April and then May...)

Problem is, we are fresh out of ideas. She just went to a party, where the parents rented a hotel room out and stayed with them, which the girls enjoyed. Simple enough, but she doesn't want to do the same thing (it was only 2 weeks ago..)

Things that have been dismissed (that I would of loved at her age....) :/

Makeovers, Mall Crawl, Limo

ANY IDEAS are appreciated.

We have decided to have it at our house, but we need a theme. We almost went with a Vegas theme, where we could have the kids play games for tickets, then exchange prizes, but we thought it might get old quick. Any thoughts? :D

Has anyone expericed a theme like this first hand? Any tips or thoughts?

What about a party at the skating rink.Or have the cake and ice cream at home then take all of the girls skating.Skating's a big thing with my kids. I took dd and her friends skating for her birthday. We had the food and snacks before we went. They skated until 11:00 pm then came home and ate popcorn and watched a movie until they fell asleep.

Maybe night club theme.  Rent a hall or conference room at a hotel or something like that, and have it be a night club theme.  Light get dressed up, music, finger foods stuff like that.  Maybe have games if games are okay.

I would revisit the Vegas/casino night.  Playing games for prizes sounds like a lot of fun...When the kids bore of it, then you go to p.j's, popcorn and a movie.

If you have Claires in your area, they are always good for the ten items for $5 that would make excellent prizes.  Otherwise, Target's $1 bins have some great itmes.

I read about a mom who did this and wished I had done that with my step daughter when she was younger.
