Running question

I was wondering if anyone can help  me answer this question.  I did an 8 mile run yesterday-4 miles of it was up hill.  Yes, this was extremely challenging for me.  Afterwards when I was done I ate an apple and 24oz. of water.  I got physically sick.  I got a bad stomach ache like I was going to vomit and #2 together.  Gross, I know.  I ended up running to the bathroom 4 times!  After that, I was still somewhat weak.  I have ran longer distance than that, but not up such a big hill.

My question is why did I get sick?  What happened?

I can not eat right after a run like that. Drinking yes but eating no.
All bodies are different and they work a bit different. That is normal, just wait a littile while before eating the next time. Let your body cool down. Also, after a run like that, you have to make sure that you walk it out at the end. That will help winde (spelling is terrible) your body down out of cardio mode and be prepared to eat and digest food.
Hope it helps

Thanks so much for your advice.  I found out just the other day that I actually got dehydrated because during the run I didn't drink anything.  I always feel that I will get a stomach cramp when i drink or eat anything prior or during a run.  The weather was extremely hot that day and we were on a serious hill for half of it.  I have learned my lesson.  Thnak goodness.  I still run today.  I am actually getting ready to register online for the Mercedes Marathon next year.  I did the half this year, now I want to to the whole 26 miles.  I think I can do it.

Do you run marathons?
