I'm a Mom of 2 "adult" kids. One is 25 and the other is 22. Josh is a Staff Sergent in the AF but is about to "seperate". Sarah will Graduate from Marist College in Poughkeesie, NY in December with a Broadcast Journalism Degree. Is there anyone there who" is in my shoes" :) Eileen

Thanks Julie,
For sure the older they get the bigger their problems right? But we always love them! Eileen

Hi!  I have 2 "adult" sons.  One is 27, married and they just had their 3 child.  The other one is 24, married, and in Baghdad with the National Guard.  He loves the Army and probably will make a career out of it.  And, yes, just because they are "grownup" doesn't make our worries go away.  We can all relate and we are here for you.  Andrea

Josh wanted to be career AF but  he got into a horrible recruiting job and the AF wouldn't let him return to the job he loved "turning wrenches" with F-16's & F-22's so he was given the choice of "fuffilling his recruiting contract" or "separating" which is killing him!!! Eileen

My son in law got into recruiting after being in Iraq the first time.  After about a year or so of it he was sick of it.  He said he would rather be in Iraq than recruiting.  So when he fulfilled his time in recruiting in January of this year they sent him to Ft Hood.  He just went to Iraq the last of October.  He is career.  He will be spending 15 months in Iraq then should about the same amount of time left of his 20.  Sorry didn't mean to get off the subject.  June

Josh could not stand the recruiting. He ended up in the hospital with severe anxiety attacks and the had to put him on meds! He's relieved to be out of it but wants to go into Active Reserve where he can do what he loves....work on jets.
thanks June

Kevin hated it too.  I am surprised he didn't end up on meds.  Or have a heart attack.  Thats really kinda sad...I mean no matter how many he got to join they were never satisfied...always pushing...get im in the army..then fill out paper work in triplicate...then, "what are you doing in the office you need to be recruiting!!"  Man it was neverending.  Not to mention it was heck on his family!!   June
