What are some things that you KNOW you tried your best to teach your children, or to instill in your children?
To be honest, kind, truthful, to work hard and remember to have fun, and that no matter what dissapointments or hardshiops you may encounter, tomorrow is another day.
I always tried to make sure Chad knew hard work never hurt anyone and that if you wanted things you had to work for them. To be honest, loving and kind and to treat people the same way HE wanted to be treated. I also taught him about Jesus and how much he loves him.
I taught them unconditional love, family, loyalty, honesty, and you got to laugh a little
Choose wisely and, if you don't, learn from it.
Some things I taught them were things I wished my parents had taught me:
Do unto others as you'd have others do unto you.
How to clean up after themselves; from laundry to toilets.
How to open a bank acct, write a check & pay their bills.
How to shop for groceries & cook 7 different meals.
How to drive, pump gas, check oil & replace a tire.
The difference in wines, cuts of beef, table ettiquite & how to figure a tip.
How to do a resume & apply for a job.
There were many other things but I was pretty diligent about making certain they left home with enough skills to keep their heads above water. No drownings yet!
