I believe that this is a possibility, but I have learned to the contrary that if I think about the worse possible outcomes and how I would deal with them, then if it is a good outcome, then I am relieved and happy.

I do this too.  I think it's called being a pessimistic optimist.  or an optimistic pessimist.  lol.

Being optomistic is great when you have good health, but when you don't sometimes the best you can hope for is being realistic.
