Our lost angel UPDATE...

I just wanted to thank all of you wonderful ladies for your kindness and you words of support and prayers. I got home early this afternoon and after spending the day with my family I am just now sitting down and logging on ... I am filled with tears of thanks that so many of you expressed your sympathies thank you all again I am glad I have a place like this to turn to.

Samantha did not have a funeral per say but rather a celebration of life. On Friday there was a private family only service. And on Saturday my cousin held a celebration of Sammys life at the beach, her favorite place to be.. Many many friends gathered including members of my dads family who live down there and know my aunt and unce obviously through my parents...it was beautiful she showed a video of Sam from birth to just last week.. The video was still photos as well as film of her and her journey. I was surprised to see a picture of me holding her when she was little. People talked about their memories of her including her teachers, doctors, nurses, therapist, classmates her cousins, anyone who wanted to share. There was plenty of tears but equal laughter .. This little angel touched and inspired so many.. At sunset close family members were given packets of yellow and pink balloons..one for every year she was with us, others were given single balloons .. Their priest said a beautiful prayer and we all released the balloons at once it seemed the skies over Tampa for minutes were filled with pink and yellow balloons and suddenly they like Sammy seemed to fly off into the heavens. Our little angel is at peace now, ... I am happy to be home, today I held my girls so close, and thanked god for them ...

The best way to commerate a lost life is to celebrate it.

So glad you got to go and spend time with family/friends. I am sure you were more than ready to be home.

sounds like a wonderful tribute. I always would prefer to celebrate rather than mourn.
