Colleen has given me one of my favorite tips.

Use Aloe gel. Its good for your skin and inexpensive. Use it in replace of a face cream, use it to shave.

She is right. Its good stuff. My husband has dry skin. He refuses to let me put lotion on him. He says its too greasy but I know its also to him not "manly". I know, I know, geesh, but he will let me put the aloe gel on and the skin on his face is so pretty!

I love that tip!

you have to let them fall and deal with the consequences or else they will never learn or become independent. in reference to adult kids.

recently my then 19 year old son got 4 speeding tickets in ONE weekend. he is in the Army and was trying to get to his girfriends senior prom and back to post. one of the tickets was for 108 in a 75, holy shit! i gave him advice on what to do but i didnt make the phone calls etc for him. i so wanted to since he is strapped for time, but i couldnt do it for him because it wouldnt have had the same impact!

Good! He was being reckless. I'd be surprised if he doesn't have to go in front of the judge for that one. My nephew got stopped doing 110 and had to go in front of a judge so the judge could personally tell him what a dumb a** he was being.

oh i torn his ass up over it! i told him prom was not worth dying over and/or killing innocent people! that i guessed the only reason he didnt get arrested was his military I.D. . whatever his consequences are he deserves them!

The most important was quite some time ago by someone who no longer comes here but who has remained a good friend and I thank her for her wisdom.  She "taught" me that although some Muslim women are "co erced" into wearing the Burqua, Hajib, Niqab, etc some wear them out of respect of their husbands/marriage/family.  That the western woman's belief that they are being oppressed by wearing them is not always the truth.  If you think about it, there are thousands of women here in the U.S.  who are not Muslim who are oppressed but they don't wear a Burqua, Hajib, or Niqab, etc

I have learned that in my loneliness, I am surrounded by wonderful women who have become great friends. Distance is a matter of measure but when it comes to friendship we are all just a email, text, phone call away. I am very thankful for my CM girls!!

I have learned so much from cleaning and cooking and computer things but the really important thing is that no matter what I can come in to this group and say anything and feel loved and supported
