Has anyone tried Weight Watchers? Or Jenny Craig?
So I went to the Doc on Monday and he says my cholesterol was way up and that I may be Pre Diabetic and I needed to lose weight. I told him that I have been and no matter what I do I cant lose weight below a certain weight and it has been the most frustrating part of my life. I can starve myself and work out and not lose weight, I can eat the recommended amount of calories and work out and not lose weight. I can eat 1200 calories a day and work out and not lose weight. I eat healthy, hardly any junk food, salt or sugar so WtH?
So he recommended weight watchers, so Im thinking what can it hurt. Have you tried it before? What can I expect, did you have good results?

I have and I did really well on it. I had lost 40 pounds it is a really easy plan and it works, but I stopped doing it and I have found about 20 of those pounds I lost.LOL
You should try it
Well it really couldnt hurt. I want to lose 20 but would be happy with even losing 5. Im glad it worked out for you, thats great news. What about Jenny Craig....do you know the difference between the two?
I probably wouldnt buy the premade meals, just follow thier meal plan and recipies. One thing that might mess me up is that we dont have an employee room, kitchen or microwave at work so no hot meals or cooking. Congrats on losing 30 lbs!!! Thats Awesome!! Yes I take Fish and Flax seed oil every night with dinner.

My boss did and she lost a lot of weight. I LOVE the frozen meals :) I take them for lunch, sometimes have them for dinner. Its an easy way to keep check on the calories. I've lost about 30 pds. this year too.
You need to take fish oil for that cholesterol, like "Mega Red".
This Dr. wants me to have more blood work. He thinks that I may have other auto immune diseases. Uuuuugh. He thinks because my cholesterol and other levels are high that might be an indication. He also poo pooed the Milk Thistle...hmmm funny that my liver enzymes are still within the normal range.

I have not done it but am considering it
I would like the recipes, they have an online version. its not that expensive 65 for three months.

I had the books that told you what the points value was and a point counter card that I used. A friend who actually went to ww gave them to me when she stopped going. I did lose weight and it was easy because there wasn't anything you couldn't have. I should do it again but now I don't have the info since the fire. I don't really want to pay to do it but really it is a good plan.
Thats great!!! You must feel wonderful!

My aunt did and lost over 100 pounds. I am thinking about it...my doc and I decided in May to try Adipex because my bp was out of whack (not super high but high enough...) and none of the meds worked or made me crazy dizzy. I just finished my 3 months on it and I lost 60 pounds ( in 3 months!!!!). It has it's side effects but it was worth it ( the worst was crazy dry mouth and I would sweat like gallons a day). I definitely recommend it!!
Actually its not that expensive. 65.00 for three months and you make your own food but use the point system. I think its worth a try, nothing else is working for me.

If you starve yourself and work out, of course you won't lose weight. You might lose muscle and bone, but certainly not fat.
I think the only thing WW will hurt is your pocketbook. It's expensive and it's just as good at being a temporary (but mildly addictive, so you go back again and again --with your money) fix as any other diet 'program' you can buy.
I'm a fan of the George Clooney method of healthy lifestyle: stop eating junk and get off the couch.
yep...healthy diet and exercise

For sure, starving and working out is not the right answer. Your body;s metabolism will only slow down with starving and adjust to the calories you dod take in. I did WW when it first came out many years ago - in the days when you had to eat fish 5 times a week, red meat 3 times and could not eat certain things and I can tell you that I lost pounds and pounds (close to a hundred). The weight loss portion was followed with a maintainence plan which was equally beneficial. A few years ago, I joined the on line program and it too took off the 15 pounds I had managed to put back on. I do have to admit I personally do better when I can and I can't have certain things. The point system (for me) gave me too much leeway to cheat and my the end of the second day I could easily not have any points left for the rest of the week. But then, you are probably more disciplined than I am. My objection to Jenny Craig is buying the packaged food.
