When we were at the San Francisco Aquarium on Tuesday, Mel Gibson was there at the same time. I saw this guy come in just before we did, and thought "He looks like an older, shorter Mel Gibson". I furtively watched him, and heard him speak, then knew for sure that was him. I didn't tell my daughter or husband, but when we were up on the second level, Cassidy told me she recognized him. My husband has a Zoology degree, and he was so enthralled with the critters, that he doesn't even notice people, so we told him after we exited the Aquarium. Honestly, at times we were just inches from Mel, and he had made no effort to disguise himself in any way. He seemed aware that a lot of people knew who he was, but I guess he must be used to that for many years. He has a balding spot on the back of his head, and looked old, and not as tall as I thought he would be. He was with his little daughter, the nanny, and a bodyguard type of guy (probably for the child's sake). Some people were sneakily taking photos of Mel, which I thought was rude. At one point, however, he sat on a bench to look at stuff on his phone and was right under a big sign that said "Large Yellow Slug". Oh, so tempting. Funny, when we were in SF nine years ago, we kept running into Vanna White and the Wheel of Fortune crew doing location shots for the show. Vanna seemed sweet and said hi to Cassidy who was 11 at the time.
