It's Gingerbread House Day....

Did you make them with your kids when they were little? Do you still make them now?

I've seen pictures of ornate gingerbread houses but I've never made one!

We made Gingerbread houses and a gingerbread train with the residents yesterday. I loved making them with the kids when they were young. We do usually use a kit. I don't have the patience to bake everything and decorate it!!

I think we've only ever made one.   About 3 or 4 years ago,and that was it.

We made one once with the youngest. It was from a kit. We added extra candies. It was fun. After Christmas we invited some family and friends over for a Gingerbread House Eating Party! They had a great time just ripping it apart and eating it up!

Rather than get a kit, I buy graham crackers and white frosting along with marshmallows, chocolate chips and some other assorted candies. That way then can build whatever size they want and it's cheaper! =)

My 4 and 8 year olds love it and even my 16 year old got in the act this year!
