And not one lick of common sense. Do you think this is an ordinary occurrence for someone with a high I.Q.? 

Drives me nuts. He can tell you about the habitat of a polar bear and what scientists are doing to try to save the species, but you can't send him to the grocery store to pick up a couple things. Even with a list, he will get it wrong every time.

Common sense is not so common.  I think this is true in a lot of cases.

I do believe that IQ and common sense are inversely proportional.  That also applies to pick up trucks I think.  The bigger the truck, the lower the IQ.

ha ha, I have a 27 yo son just like that full of useless information and not on drop of common sense.  He does make me laugh though.  Just gotta love your kids!

 I know what you mean.  My dh is the kind of person who you'd want on your team if you played jeopardy.  He is so smart.  But no common sense.  I call him my "idiot savant".
