Studies show that the internet is making us lonely, depressed and possibly crazy.

Do you think this is true? Do you know anyone that this is happening too?
Quoting LadyDiamond927:I read an article about that, but I don't total agree...like everything in this world there's good & bad in everything that we do. I remember years ago there was an article saying there was nothing positive about the Internet, just pornographic material, but that wasn't true either. When they do these studies...my question is who did they study? Is it a known fact that the people in the study weren't lonely, depressed or crazy before the Internet? Just my thoughts :)
I do believe people were lonely, depressed and crazy before the internet came along!
There's a flipside to everything!
i would think it would be helpful for people that are isolated.
Actually, for some shut-in's it has actually broadened their ability to connect with other's they couldn't with otherwise.
For some, it's like an addiction but I think most have it pretty well under control. I have a job that requires lots of "on" time. When I get home I don't spend a lot of time on the net.
I think so too. I have a friend who is disabled and she is fighting the county. She is always running around making copies and writing papers. I told her if she had a computer she could save so much time. She says then she would have to learn to use the computer. and that would take time....

I agree with the shut ins. They even give discounts for disabled people.
Im like you, when I get home the last thing I want to do is go on the computer since I am on it all day.
