I don't know that we have any food products that are "unique" to Kansas ... but we have a cut of beef called "Kansas City Strip."  I have no clue what that cut is called outside of our Kansas City Area.  Maybe Tracy (mommaT-42) knows??  Anyway, it's DELICIOUS!

Here in Kansas City, we like to think we are famous for our barbeque.  We have several places that have been around forever.  Gates BBQ, Arthur Bryants are two of the more widely known ones but there are plenty of others - JackStack BBQ, Johnny's, Oklahoma Joe's, Rosedale.  Tracy, did I forget any?  Oh, Zarda BBQ.  lol.

I can't think of any that are unique.  Blue crabs, kind of.

We are known as the fruit bowl of the nation and are well known for our fruits - particularly apples, peaches, cherries, apricots and pears.  Also known for our hops and getting known for our wineries and grape orchards.

Here in Springfield MO we're famous for being the city where cashew chicken was invented by at Leongs Tea House by their owner and chef.  Its a Chines dish of chunks of white chicken meat breaded and deep fried then mixed with the sauce and cashew nuts served on white ot fried rice.

I've never had it,but am told it very good.

And back in MD where I grew up we were famous for our MD blue crabs. Before steaming and after steaming:And they are so good. One big thing I miss from living there. No steamed crabs fresh from the bay here in MO.lol
