10 Best Small Towns in America: Is Yours on the List?

by Emily Abbate

Best Small Towns to Live InAs much as I love living in a big city, I think there's something great to be said for the adorable qualities of small-town life. You know, driving around and seeing tons of people you know, walking into the grocery store and knowing the butcher by name, and of course, the unique town traditions that make your town special.

CNNMoney recently conducted a survey evaluating the top 10 best small towns in America. The criteria? No, not the taste of their signature apple pie or the friendliness of the mayor. Instead, each town was evaluated on their income levels, population, crime levels, house prices, and number of gardens and parks.

Spanning from the east to west coasts, check out the top 10 small towns to live in America, here:

10: West Goshen, Pennsylvania

9. Apex, North Carolina

8. Papillion, Nebraska

7. Mason, Ohio

6. Berkeley Heights, New Jersey

5. Sherwood, Oregon

4. Chanhassen, Minnesota

3. Vienna, Virginia

2. Louisville, Colorado

1. Sharon, Massachusetts

Have you been to any of these towns?

If you had a choice to move to one, which one would you move to?

No, not on the list. I'd pick one with an agreeable climate. Vienna, VA might be nice, Apex maybe.

When living in MD had been to Vienna VA several times.  The area is nice and about 20 miles from DC, but lots of traffic.  I think I would rather live farther away from the city life then that.

The little town(city) we live in now I like a lot. Not to small and not to big and withing driving distance to the lakes or country.

I have not been to any of these, but love Oregon so would choose Sherwood.

I know Sharon, MA. Not sure why this is on the list.

No, my town isn't on the list. I'm guessing to get on the list, the town has to have things to offer the people. My town has nothing....just the way I like it.

Apex NC is where my mom was raised.  I have family living there still.  It's about 45 minutes from where I live now.
