Now that my son has a girlfriend, I have two family members with ASD!

Hi, I am the mom of a 30 year old son on the spectrum. We have learned a lot along the way since he was diagnosed two decades ago. He and his girlfriend who is also on the spectrum live in their own apartment. This of course presents new chanllenges but my priority continues to be his happiness and safety!

One thing I have learned is that teaching safety skills  has to be a priority our teens and adults. I am active in this area and made Be Safe The Movie to show teens and adults with ASD how to be safe in different police encounters. I am interested in hearing from other parents, what have you done to help your teen or adult learn to be safe?

I'm sorry - what does ASD stand for? I googled it and it could be acute stress disorder or American sleep disorder?

I think it is Autism Spectrum Disorder, not sure.
