Author, when you were a kid?
My favorite author was Carolyn Haywood. I read all the Betsy and Star books, I could find.
I loved reading Walter Farley's and Marguerite Henry's horse books when I was young. Later I loved reading Edgar Rice Burroughs' Tarzan books. I also enjoyed Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes stories. There were a variety of horror authors I read in high school and as a young adult like Anne Rice, Stephen King and Clive Barker.
I enjoyed the older authors like Poe, Le Fanu, Doyle, Tom Hardy, Brontes.
Laura Ingals Wilder, C.S. Lewis, and Madeleine L'Engle
I didn't read much. Wasn't allowed to watch tv so wonder what I did ;) I do remember reading some books I loved in jr high and high school and they were "Born Free", "Gone with the Wind" and "The Thorn Birds"
I don't remember the name but the Sweet Valley High books were my favorite.
I'm another horse lover like LEK19 and read Walter Farley,I think I have all the Black Stallion Series and the Island Stallion, and Margurite Henry. I don't know how many time I read Misty OF Chincoteague or Stormy and King of The Wind,Born To TRot. Anything that had to do with horses or other animals I read it. And I also loved Louisa May Alcott and Laura Lee Hope(She wote the Bobbsey Twin books.)
I've been an avid reader since forever.lol
I hated reading when I was younger. I think that's why I'm making up for all those years. Love, love, love books! I wish J. K. Rowling was around back then.
I didn't read at all back then! I think I read a book called "That was then, this is now", good book! They talked about drugs, playing spin the bottle, etc.
I don't remember having a favorite back then. Not till my teen years, at least, when I started reading Stephen King.
