Poor Blackie

Our blood hound goes into the vet tomorrow for a mastectormy and a spay job.  She has breast cancer.  I have known about it for awhile, but haven't had the cash to do anything about it.  Fortunately my vet has done a discount for me.  Still expensive little over  700.00.  But that includes pathology labs and 2 surgical procedures.  When they first quoted me the surgery it was over 850.00 and that was just the mastectomy.  Gotta have her in at 7:00 a.m.  Hope they don't get in there and see that it has metastasized.

I'm sorry for Blackie, and I know how much it costs. It costs so much money to do anything with your pets. I hope the surgery goes well. My thoughts are with Blackie.

She is nine and unspayed.  This is precisely the time they start having problems, if they stay intact.  Shame on me for not having her spayed a couple of years ago.  My not quite ex didn't want her spayed, he had ideas of breeding her, which I was totally against.

Yes, both dogs are getting old,but Blackie could have 3 or 4 healthy years left, so I felt I had to go ahead with the surgery.
