That is the only reason I can think of that my niece left the hospital and disappeared again. She wanted nothing to do with my brother or his wife. She was convinced that they did not file a missing persons report and didn't care what happened to her. But she had no problem calling them when she hated the hospital food or wanted something. Her ex husband showed up and she had been saving her pain pills and he gave her six needles with meth in them. Yep, she over dosed in the hospital. My brother was taken to court by her ex for custody of the six kids. To the Supreme Court, mind you, and his attorney didn't show up until the judge threw it out and gave custody to my brother.
So my niece would call him or her mom and be all nice and tell them how much she loved them and how sorry she was until they showed up and gave her what she wanted and then she would start cussing them and telling them how much she hated them. So they quit taking the kids to see her. She was more upset about her ex showing up with his girlfriend than she was about not seeing her kids. Well she was released from the hospital and took off and no one knows where she is. She was offered rehab. She was offered all sorts of things and she kept choosing the meth. She is lost to us. My brother's heart is broken, but he is not going to let anything happen to those kids. He said, "She fucked up her life, I'm not going to let her fuck up theirs!"

Thankfuly those kids have your brother to care for them.

The two youngest were so malnourished that they wouldn't even cry. Now every time they see my sister in law they coo and giggle and make happy noises. I am so thankful that my brother and his wife are so much better with kids than I am!
