We had to get a tech guy out to fix a problem with our tv service. While he was here I asked him if he would like something to drink. He looked at me like I grew two heads right in front of him. He told me that most people do not ask him that and they pretty much ignore any hospitality.
So, when you have people in your home who are doing a service, do you extend the same hospitalities that you would a visitor?
depends on howlong they are there--if i get a chance i do--sometimes its so quick and they seem in a hurry that i dont get a chance..
but when my guy comes to clean the carpet--damn sure i make sure he gets something to drink--and i always have homemade cookies to pass out!!
so i guess if they are they longer than 20-30 min--yeah i do offer them a drink..
I usually ask if they would like something to drink. They usually take a water.
I was just surprised that people would behave so rudely. I shouldnt have been but I was.
yes I do, it would be rude not too. Most of the time they are fine but I still ask.
No. I dont think so. First of all, I have always been too poor to be stuck up or look down on others. Secondly, I was brought up to treat people hospitably when they are in my home. Regardless of the reason they are here, they are still people. Even a repair person might like to have a glass of water or whatever. Most of the time, they say no. Its sad that people have moved away from treating others with hospitality.
Quoting roxxyt:I usually do, why is that wrong?
