thats some pretty cool stuff that you collect...do you make homemade candy? (i see that you listed candy molds)

Quoting kmom523:

Matchbooks, that was my first collection! Have a huge 5 gallon glass pickle jar full of them. Have a few other little collections, like vintage cookie cutters and mini candy molds, banded bowls, purses, and my books.

Well they are baskets that are made by the company called Longaberger and they are very well made, some are made with specific intentions others as a collector piece. All are signed by the company crafter and dated. Here are two baskets, the first one was my first basket it has a 4th of July theme around it, the second basket I recieved after a I was Prez for a mommy group, it's a cake or pie basket. My board of directors signed and dated the lid for me.

Hubby collects those, and I keep my eye out for them when I'm out and about.  Most of the 20 or so that we have in the apartment right now are newer, printed within the last 10 years or so.  But some of our special treasures are "The Great Twentieth Century Cookbook", copyright 1902, by Maud Cooke, which belonged to the hubby's great-grandmother, Minnie Henderson Macdonald; the "Boston Cooking-School Cook Book" by Fannie Merritt Farmer, printed 1928; and "The Daily News Cookbook" (compiled recipes from the Chicago Daily News) printed in 1896.  We have other old cookbooks in storage, not enough space in this tiny little place to have them all out.  Love them.

Quoting Ellen_mom:

I know, right?  I inherited all of my grandma's cookbooks, including a "1965 congressional wives cookbook"

Quoting shadenn766:

 i love a good cookbook...

Oh, and cookbooks...

And me?  I collect vintage and antique books, pottery, jewelry, clothing, textiles, and artwork.  I have a huge collection of books in storage right now because our apartment is too tiny to have them all out.  Ditto my jewelry, most of my artwork, and my vintage clothing.  Some of the pottery we have here but not all, and I use the wool blankets and other textiles that I find all the time.  I love the challenge of finding things in thrift stores.  Like my $8 Hudson Bay blanket.  *G*
