Normally my period lasts 4-5 days, I was 8 days late (due to stress)and now I have been on my period for 16 days straight and it doesn't look like it is going to stop anytime soon. Has anyone experienced long lasting periods and what were the results?

can it be the start of menapause...how old are ya....
I am 47 - it may be menopause, however, last year around this time I had my annual exam and blood tests/ultra-sound and the results showed I was not menopausal or perimenopausal. My hormones, thyroid and other blood tests were normal and I was not anemic. The only thing was the lining of my uterus was a bit thick. I have not had hot/cold flashes or anything else. I am concerned and a bit scared.
