Well, my sisters,

I had my appointment with my neurosurgeon today which was a water haul and a total waste.  He looked at my MRI and all my reports.  He told me that surgery would probably worsen my problem so he is sending me for physical therapy 3 times a week for 6 weeks to see if they can strengthen my neck muscles so I can hold my head up and get it off my freaking chest.

Mind you, he told me I have spinal stenosis, my vertebral discs are degenerating and I have severe arthritis in my spinal verterbral bones.

Sorry sissies, I'm PO'd beyond belief.  This guy is supposed to be the BEST in the area. We're talking 200 miles that we drove one way.  I saw his PA for maybe 5 minutes and him for less than 30 freakin seconds.

All in all, he gave me no hope.  He doesn't want to see me again, "unless I need him."  I DON'T F**KING THINK SO.

Can you tell I'm upset?

I SO apologize for the rant but it's been a very long, tiring, maddening, frustrating and depressing day.

Linda

Hey Linda...back before I was diagnosed, I was shuffled from one "specialist" to another. It was the most frustrating thing to wait MONTHS for an appointment, then HOURS in a waiting room, only to have the doctor hardly LOOK at you!

You have every right to be angry.

I hope it gets better...are you taking glucosamine?

It sure seems like there should be some way to stablize your neck. But then I'm not a doctor.

So sorry sweetie, not sure this will help but saw on the show Sunday morning new surgeries they are doing on degenerating discs, and I know here in az they just started a new technique with some little robot that requires less evasive surgeries on the spine, there are only like five in the country right now but there's new stuff all the time, how arrogant was that doc you saw? What an ass.

I find that the best in town usually means te biggest jackass in town. I had to see a specialist with my daughter and he treated my like a piece of crap the whole time (which was about 5 min in front of a bunch of students) I say find a doctor who cares about his patients

Usually the "best" is the most arrogant.  Sorry about your situation.
