Looking for work in Missouri.. Turned 50 last April. I need help. I am new to this group.
I am new here, at least to this group. I need help with networking and job searching. I know that most women get their steady employment from whom they know. I must not know enough people because I have been looking for more than a year and I have not found a job. My specialties are helping others complete their goals. Exspecially if what they needs related to writing. I have a gift with words and I have experience with tutoring college students with writing papers and assisting them with brainstorming and time management.. Any suggestions would be welcomed.. I am single with no kids.
Have you gone to the schools to apply for a aide job relatingto tutoring? Do you have a degree? I would start by putting a resume together and figure out what I done in the past and what I would like to do and if I am qualified and start there..
There must be a job service in your area. I would go there and or some have online sites where you can fill out a application with interests/experience etc...and they will match you with employment opportunities. Often they start out as temp, but larger corporations will not hire off the street anymore and use these places to narrow the scope of hiring and positions will turn full time permanent in a short time after you are hired. Goodluck!
maybe do that while looking for another job, maybe it could grow into something bigger and be enough all on its own.
have you looked at some of these places that offer college advising?
Have you tried an online network marketing like LinkedIn? I know several people that work from home and use this to meet people with oppurtunities for work.I have not joined yet but some of the people in my team use it.I work from home so I do not want to start working outside the home til my 4 yr old starts Pre kindergarten.![]()
put together a resume and shop it around...good luck to ya...
and check out temp services they can usually place people in jobs quickly
