Got bad news today

Back story is that I've been having problems with my feet. Feet getting hot, swelling, tingeling, numbness, etc. I also am a diabetic so nerve damage is something I've had to worry about.

Went to the podiatrist today and it is confirmed that I have diabetic neuropathy. I am slowly loosing feeling in my feet and according to the doctor, I will soon be in a wheelchair if this keeps getting worse. I am only 41 years old!! I'm not prepared for something like this to happen! I'm not going to throw myself a pity party but damn, I don't want this!

Sissys, I need help with this! I feel like my world is closing in on me!

I'm so sorry...did they mention any medications that are promising?  I hope you will be able to take something that will slow this down.  Hugs to you.

thats so far fetched for him to say you'll be in a wheelchair...i know people that have neuropathy, and yes its an uncomfortable condition...but you can make some lifestyle changes to prevent further damage...

consult with a nutritonist...tweek your diet, exercise, wear comfortable shoes and hopefully you'll see some changes in your condition

Is there a way to prolong the on-set? Maybe a diet change or some sort of therapy? I am sorry that you are facing this. I will definitely be praying for you.
