I'm a massage therapist and always try to find a natural remedy before using western medicine. I have had a couple of medical emergencies in the past (a broken tooth and a ruptured appendix while pregnant) where I had to have A LOT of IV antibiotics. Now antibiotics dont' work very well for me, and herbs are much more effective. Traditional medicine doesn have it's place, but I use natural whenever possible.
Acupuncture for pain due to ruptured disc. After my third treatment, it was only upward from there. Having less pain doesn't mean I can do more though. I still have to follow the rules of no bending, lifting , turning, and caution overall until it heals entirely.

there's alot out there, single remedies, capsules with all sorts of herbs in them, the list goes on. one of the most recommended and one I use is black cohosh. And i like adding evening primrose as well. helps with the cramping. if you have a whole foods or alternative store near by I'm sure they have stuff there. my favorite for allergies is freeze dried stinging nettles, it's like a natural benadryl, without the drowsiness, but it has to be the freeze dried form. there is also homeopathics for allergies and menopause as well. hope this helps. oh almost forgot, oddly chiropractic care is good too.

I like and try to use alternative remedies. I have been very lax with it lately as I just don't have extra money for all the goodies (vitamins, herbs, probiotics, etc.) I know how much the pharmaceuticals/doctors push the pills and I really dislike that.
