Ta Da! I Finished My Christmas Tree Advent calendar!
It didn't take forever to make this. It only seemed like it. I'm glad my grands will have it for years to come.
The numerals, which don't appear in this picture, were a big bug-a-boo. I didn't want to paint them on, so I ended up going to JoAnn's, Michaels, and Hobby Lobby twice in search of one inch iron-on numbers in yellow or white. None were to be had. DH solved the problem in about 10 minutes by printing out number cards in red, folding them, and then sticking them in the pocket so they showed on the outside. The idea is for my three-year-old grandson to take the numbers out as the days pass (he'll have to catch up, now) and replace the numbers with picture cards that I put in a zip lock baggie. They're only 2 1/2 x 2 inches, and made from old Christmas cards. He'll put one card a day into the pockets until Christmas day. The picture cards are so cute, including stockings, Christmas trees, Santa Claus, candles, etc.
