Is it worth reading?

Have you read 50 shades of gray and do you think it did your life any good.  Maybe I misunderstand what women are saying it's about but, what do you think?  I love to read but have never read "romance" and don't want to buy it if that's all it is.

I started but gave the kindle back to my mom....as it is hers, lol.... What I read was very intriguing and it moves very quickly.

The writing in that book was worse than twilight, but that's just my opinion.

 the first 50 pages are virgin girlish blushing and unless you are just into "his fresh f***ed hair", I thought it pretty well went down hill from there, but that's just me

I read the entire series, not because they were amazing, but because I'm somewhat OCD, gotta finish the series.  They were entertaining, but certainly not thought provoking (lol, at least not for me).
