Why Is It So Difficult to Connect With Other Moms @ School?!

I always went out of my way at my younger kids' old school to welcome anyone new and do my best to be there for them and help them get their footing, etc.  Many of them grew to be friends.

The parents I have encountered at my kids' new schools mostly seem very nice.  Many of them have made an effort to reach out to us.....sadly, the language barrier is a problem with many of them - but I'm working on that.  Even though we don't often understand each other.....they are always inviting.

 I am the oldest mom picking up my child and what I did was start talking to some and come to find out we are all adoptive parents so now we come together in the afternoon and talk.

 The moms at my kids school seem pretty nice, and while waiting I chat with my boys friends moms. Try setting up playdates- you will get to know the other moms that way.

I always connect w/the teacher.....I don't bother w/the moms....I have 2 other moms fr my sons class in my ph n that's only cuz they r his best frenz n the moms aren't snooty n fake...

 I did a lot of P.T.A. work when Jas was in school, even if you don't run for an office position, just get in there and mingle, being a member also looks good on a resume

I know exactly what you mean, I have social anxiety as well.  I feel like the "perfect parents" don't have any spots available, because I'm not the right kind of MOM!

I know exactly what you mean, I have social anxiety as well.  I feel like the "perfect parents" don't have any spots available, because I'm not the right kind of MOM!
