Laptop Danger ~Serious, Please Read~

I was reading an article about a young man that died in a house fire. The fire was started by his overheated laptop on his bed. Apparently he had been using his laptop and had fallen asleep with it still sitting on the bed. The article indicated that he died from carbon monoxide poisoning so therefore had no chance of escaping the fire.

What happens is that when your laptop is sitting on your bed, it gets no air flow and overheats. If you must use your laptop while in bed, please get a riser and maybe even an extra fan for it. It has to have airflow for the fan to work correctly. Please don't let this happen to you or a family member.

:( So sad.

We had HP's  for a long time, they kept getting very hot and losing battery power. Oddest thing. Read later there was a warning out about them. Either way, HP or not, good to be careful.

So sad.

Thank you for this post Sissy... I do most of my work from my laptop and I have a special stand for proper ventilation....I never leave or use it on my lap or bed because you will block the fan action and it will overheat....When I am not using the computer I always turn it off and when it runs hot on my fingers its time for it to cool off...

Don't worry laptop usere...you will be ok just like the desktop worker when you turn the magic box in we all come back to life  lol
