I have been moving my parents in this extreme heat for the last two days. Today we had some help from the church and some were teenage boys. One of the boys was asked if he was ok and needed a break or to go home and he said something I haven't heard in a long time "no, if I was at home I would be bored, I rather be helping and spending my time helping others." I turned around and told this young man that it was very refreshing to hear him say this instead of "can I go home to play video games or watch TV?"

His parents are bringing him up right...

Awesome. It's amazing how some young people can restore your faith in that generation.

Yeap, it is rare. But luckily, it can still be heard here and there.

I pray those words would come out of my kids' mouth! Great parenting!

That's nice Dana...and you are right. Other things you don't hear kids say often is "Hey...let me help you with that!" rather than walking past you as you are struggling with something.

Vickey one kid did just that, I was replacing the shower head with the old one and I couldnt get it off and the boy came in and did it in two minutes and came out and said all done what can I do with this one? He even offered to wipe up the water....

There was about 8 teenage boys and all of them were great! One actually sat on the garage floor to pick up door pins the fell... These boys display my faith that boredom dont lead to killing but can lead to helping..
