Remember Russell Hoban's classic stories about Frances and her little sister Gloria and their sometimes - friend, Albert? The little badgers captured my heart and my children's imaginations.

I hope your kids and grandchildren all have an opportunity to know these wonderful characters!

Best Friends for Frances is absolutely charming. Sweet and innocent  - like childhood should be. This is the original recording. http://recordoobscura.blogspot.com/2010/10/best-friends-for-frances.html

I have the album of Chicken Soup with Rice! that Carol King sang years ago.

I forgot Maurice Sendak did the cartoon! Thanks for that. I don't want to throw away the album even though I no longer have a turntable LOL.

Hi! Let me tell you what we got instead of a regular turntable. It's a Brookstone USB turntable that takes 45s and 33 1/3 records. You can turn them into CDs. But can you believe I still need a turntable that will play 78s!! My DHs great aunt was in an all-girl band back in the '40s, and they made these great recordings that we can't play.
