We are having a bonfire this weekend for our sons 21st birthday. It's going to be cold, so I thought kielbasa and sauerkraut for sandwiches would be good.
I am making it in a big crockpot. I usually just put sauerkraut and a very small pork roast (just for flavor) on to cook for 6-7 hours, then add kielbasa a few hours before serving.
What is your recipe? I have seen so many different ones. Thought I may try something new.
I never really thought about this, but after posting this on another group, most people never heard of putting kielbasa and sauerkraut on a sandwich. This is a major party staple in our neck of the woods. We don't cut the kielbasa in small pieces, as in most recipes. Ours our cut in longer pieces to fit a sausage roll.
