Screaming child next door!

The neighbors have a child that is about 22 months old.  She screams ALL THE TIME.  Any time of day, any time of night, I swear this child only screams.  This isn't their only nor first child - they have 3 others (middle school age).  There are times I want to pound on the wall and tell them to shut her up.

Yes, sympathy and empathy abounded for a bit, but this has been going on months now.   This child needs words.  All I have ever heard her say is "Hi".   I am beginning to wonder if she is special needs with all this screaming.

I just needed to vent, sorry ladies.  The screaming continues.......UGH

hhhmmm

My first thought was a colicky baby and as a mother of a colicky child I also empathized. However...at 22 months it seems odd and there might be other concerns in play.

Do you feel concerned that there might be other issues at play?

Most moms and dads...will go out of there way to sooth a crying child for the most part, a very natural instinct I believe it to be.

Not sure...but it raises a flew flags even if the child was of special needs...we don't just let them cry and cry endlessly without intervention. But...to be honest...it would have me concerned.

Do you feel like you can approach them?

Good luck!

I don't think there is abuse.

Approach the parents, nah

Child screams if parents are home.  If Grandma is there.  If older siblings are watching her.  It is probably attention.  Nevertheless it is annoying!!!

Thanks for listening ladies.

That would grate on my nerves! As I'm sure it would for her parents too. Poor thing.

I couldn't handle that I would have to either be saying somnething or CPS would be called. How irritating.

It sounds to me like maybe a hyperactive child, or just plain bored! The parents need to play with her, give her toys, etc. No reason to just scream endlessly! Child needs stimulation!

Something is off with a 22 month old that screams non-stop. Poor kid and family and YOU! That has got to be exhausting listening to that.
